Ministry team

Our new Rector is the Revd Dr Tim Watson. He and his wife Kate and children Daniel and Susanna have moved to Canberra from the UK. Tim's induction service was on Saturday 19 January. Read Bishop Trevor's announcement of our new rector here.

The Reverends Joan and Howard Smith have been active parishioners at Holy Cross since 2012. They retired to Canberra to be closer to family, after a lifetime as priests in the Diocese of Bathurst. They are keenly involved in the Tuckerbox ministry, share regularly in study groups in the parish, assist in the annual parish fete, support the parish Social Justice and Environment group, and have taken services for a number of years when the Rector has been on leave. Outside the parish they also attend meetings of Christians for an Ethical Society and the Palestine Israel Ecumenical Network, participate in various University of the Third Age courses in Canberra, and when available take their turn in minding their grandsons as needed.

Most members of parish council are elected by the congregation at its annual meeting. Others are appointed by the rector. They meet monthly with the rector to guide and care for the life of the parish. The current members are:

Tony Jordan (Presiding Member), Erica Mathieson (Rector), John Campbell, Mark Sayer, Christine Ledger, Kirsty Baker, Caity Cameron, Adrian Wright, Justin Combs & Kirsten Merlino
