Let’s Celebrate St Margaret’s – No 9 am Service

St Margaret’s is celebrating their 60th Anniversary on Sunday at 10.30 am and we have decided to join their service!

This means there will be no 9 am service on Sunday and instead we would love to celebrate with them and see you at 10.30 am!

Holy Cross regular Sunday worship in person and online

All are welcome to join us for our regular Sunday Eucharist worship services at 9am each week. During school terms these include kids’ church and activities for families with young children. For those who can’t be with us in person, you are welcome to join our weekly Sunday worship online via Zoom.

Occasional joint services with St Margaret’s take place at 9.30am as noted in our church calendar.

North Canberra Nativity Festival, 7-11 December

Join us for the fabulous North Canberra Nativity Festival this weekend … and remind yourself of the meaning of the season!

There’s something for everyone on the Festival programme this year – including probably the best Carols by Candlelight in the Inner North.

Join us for a fabulous concert featuring Holy Cross & St Margaret’s Good Faith Choir (directed by Susan Reid) and Canberra Community Voices (directed by Ken Teoh).

Join us for Christmas at Holy Cross!

Come all to Holy Cross fete, 10-3 Sat 18 Nov

Come along to our Holy Cross fete, a fabulous community event with food, goods and fun!

10am-3pm Saturday 18 November

Enjoy scones and tea in the morning, and sit in the sun listening to live music for lunch while enjoying food from around the world.

Pick up repurposed treasures from our bookstall, clothes and famous white elephant, and get ready for Christmas with handmade crafts, jams, gifts, cards and beautiful decorations.

Let your kids have fun on the jumping castle, kids’ games and face painting, then end the day with gelato, cake and lemonade.

All welcome!

Hackett’s 60th Birthday Party – Saturday 28 October, 3-8pm

We are honoured to be holding Hackett’s 60th Birthday Party on the church grounds, co-hosted with the Hackett Community Association and our friends from St Margaret’s Uniting Church. It’s going to be an amazing community occasion, and everyone is welcome!

Featuring FREE kids entertainment (bouncy castle, face painting, Funky Fairy), a wide range of food trucks, and live performances including:

  • 3.00pm: student bands from Dickson College
  • 4.00pm: CAKE CUTTING AND “HAPPY BIRTHDAY HACKETT”
  • 4.15pm: Good Faith Choir – gospel / world music
  • 4.30pm: Folk Dance Canberra
  • 4.40pm: local piano students including rising star JJ Neeman
  • 5.15pm: Broad Spectrum – folk / rock / blues
  • 6.15pm: a breezy summer set from a Mystery Local Celebrity
  • 7.00pm: Chris Van Der Wielen Trio – classic hits from 1963 to 2013

Plus classical music by members of the ACT Youth Orchestra and local performers

Also featuring the HACKETT SQUARES community art show – enter your 30cm square artwork and win a cash prize! Entries close Wednesday 26 October.

Sunday 17 September, 9.30am – Celebrating 60 Years

On Sunday 17 September we are celebrating our 60th anniversary with a special Holy Cross Day Eucharist at 9.30am, presided by Bishop Mark.

The service will include music from the Good Faith Choir, a confirmation, and the reception of a member into the Anglican Church of Australia.

Following the Eucharist, all are welcome to join us for a “chicken and champagne” lunch. We look forward to seeing you there!

12 days of Christmas decorations

Auction of our beautiful Winter Christmas decorations

Our gorgeous Winter Christmas decorations are up for auction. Please visit the site, and share the links with friends and family who may be interested in treasuring precious examples of a more traditional Christmas spirit, with handcrafted memories of the 12 days of Christmas and St Nick and family.

Christmas in July in June

Our Christmas in July is on once again on Friday 30 June, with beautiful carols, warming mulled wine, a Christmas feast, and plenty of cheer!

6pm winter carols (free, no registration required)
7pm Christmas feast (Adults $20, Kids $5). Please register at www.holycrosshackett.org.au/christmas to join us for dinner.
