Holy Cross (like all local churches) is a community organisation, which depends on the commitment of its many volunteers in order to carry out its mission and ministry activities. We are immensely grateful to them for all that they give!
Volunteering at Holy Cross is also a great way to make friends, gain experience, and serve your local community. Our volunteers help us with a wide range of activities, including:
- Tuckerbox
- White Elephant
- Organising Concerts, Festivals and Fetes
- Kids and Youth Ministry
- Helping with Sunday services
- Gardening and grounds
- IT and AV
If you are interested in finding out more, please contact the Rector or Tuckerbox team.
Safe Ministry
Volunteers carry out their duties under the supervision of Parish Council, and are asked to abide by the Diocesan Code of Good Practice and the Safe Ministry Policy, both of which can be downloaded here.
All Holy Cross volunteers are responsible for maintaining a record on the Diocesan Safe Ministry Information System and completing the necessary Safe Ministry training for their role. Detailed instructions of how to do this (including an instructional video and worksheet) are available here.
Holy Cross is a ministry unit of the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, committed to holistic Safe Ministry, and follows the policies and the protocols of the Diocese which can be found here.
If you have any questions about volunteering at Holy Cross, please contact our Safe Ministry Coordinator Tony Jordan: safeministry@holycrosshackett.org.au
If you have any concerns about misconduct or abuse please call the Diocesan Safe Ministry Helpline on 1800 070 511.
