Keeping a holy Lent

Ash Wednesday, 18 February, marks the beginning of the holy season of Lent. As ashes are traced on our foreheads, we are reminded of our human frailty and our constant need for God’s mercy: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” These words are not meant to discourage us, but to call us back to what truly matters. There will be a 10 am Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes.

The Lenten study we will be offering with St Margeret’s is ‘Our Hearts on Mission’ by Garratt Publishing. Rev’d Michael will lead a study on Tuesdays 6.30 for a 7 pm start commencing 24 February in the annex. Minister Julie will lead a study on Thursdays at 2 pm commencing 19 February in the small hall. There is a sign-up sheet at the back of the church. Please sign-up by Sunday 8 February so books can be ordered. Cost $10.
